Every pavilion is assembled by expert carpenters, not mass-produced. This level of craftsmanship ensures stability, precision, and long-term performance.

Patented structural engineering
Developed by two architects over many years, the pavilion’s paraboloid wooden grid shell is engineered to withstand extreme weather and remain structurally sound for generations. It is not comparable to fragile tent frames or temporary setups.

Built for decades, not seasons
While wear-and-tear elements like the membrane may need replacement over time, the patented wooden structure itself is built to last — offering a level of stability and quality that sets a new benchmark in the industry.

The interior floor of the pavilion is made from natural, untreated solid wood — not laminated, not coated with plastics, and completely free from chemical finishes. It is simply treated with a high-quality exterior oil, which gives the space a light, pleasant citrus-orange scent.

The roof and exterior shell are made from a premium, weatherproof membrane, but this material is completely odor-neutral and does not release any chemical smell into the interior.

Because we avoid synthetic laminates and off-gassing materials on the inside, the pavilion can be used immediately after installation. There’s no need to “air it out” first, unlike many prefabricated structures that rely on resins or plastic-based interiors.

The result: a clean, natural indoor atmosphere from day one.

Yes, definitely! The pavilion can be cooled in summer and heated in winter. This allows the outdoor area to be extended and the pavilion to be used 365 days a year. The side windows can be opened so that natural air circulation is also possible.

In addition to the design inspired by nature, it is above all the materials that make the STROHBOID pavilion so environmentally friendly: Instead of powder-coated aluminium or polycarbonate, we rely on a sustainable scaffolding made of LVL wood. This in turn carries a translucent high- tech membrane. It is UV-resistant and far more than just an awning or mosquito net: Interrupted by windows, which in turn flow into the atmospheric wooden floor, it bathes the interior in cosy light.

The STROHBOID pavilion is delivered in a natural beige. Its translucent membrane, however, seems to change its appearance on the inside depending on the light conditions: While it may appear very bright under the midday sun, the perceived colour can change over the course of the day: From a cosy taupe during the day to an inviting warm, orange glow on the outside provided by the warm white evening light on the inside.

Yes! The floor is very resistant due to its treatment with natural oil, so that furniture can be easily placed on it and remain there even after your expansive garden party.

The pavilion can be constructed on almost any surface (gravel, meadow, etc.) that does not slope too much. 

No, our pavilions are anchored and weighted down directly by using ground nails or strip or dot foundations. This allows for the creation of outdoor spaces that do not contribute to further soil sealing and thus represent a sustainable alternative to other buildings.
