STROHBOID is a pioneering company in the field of sustainable and design-oriented outdoor architecture. The two founders, Max Schade and Fritz Walter, have developed the first consistently sustainable construction system for free-form iconographic buildings of any size and span. Founded in 2018, the two architects designed a lightweight construction method that is unsurpassed in terms of stability and sustainability, thus setting a milestone in ecological construction.

A strong partner at our side

As a developer of CO2-neutral outdoor architecture, STROHBOID is now part of the long-established Styrian company Lieb Bau Weiz. The new merger not only strengthens stability, but also brings synergies from the extensive industry expertise and know-how in product development for an even stronger expansion of the STROHOID brand.

Lieb Bau Weiz

Founded in 1931, the Lieb Bau Group is one of the 500 largest Austrian companies and one of the largest construction companies in Austria with 1,200 employees. From building construction, timber construction and modular construction to prefabricated and solid houses, project planning, electrical engineering and project joinery, the traditional company's expertise extends across a broad portfolio.

With the acquisition of STROHBOID, this has now been expanded to include patented lightweight timber constructions.

Production expansion in Theresienfeld, Arndorf and Hartberg

Production takes place in Theresienfeld in Lower Austria, where the existing production facilities are not only being continued but also expanded. In addition, selected components will also be manufactured at the Lieb production sites in Arndorf and Hartberg. “The new framework conditions not only enable sustainable scaling of production, but also the long-term further development of STROHBOID technology - the focus on the highest quality and ecological design remains unchanged,” explains Gasser. At the same time, internationalization is being pushed further in order to establish the innovative lightweight construction method from Austria on new markets. In the USA and Canada in particular, demand for sustainable, high-quality architectural concepts has grown rapidly recently - a potential that we want to exploit.
