sustainable hotellerie

He who rests, rusts - innovation as a unique selling point

The market in the tourism industry is hotly contested: If you want to survive, you must not stand still, but must constantly develop and stand out. One was also aware of that Hotelcamp Reinsehlen in Lüneburg Heath when two STROHBOID lounges were integrated into the conference concept there: Cleverly placed opposite the conference halls, the enthusiasm of the seminar participants is great: “We want our seminar participants to have an unusual place for a fresh air break, as a meeting point , for relaxation or as a 'change of scenery', but also Space for small group work or create a dialogue,” says hotel director Helko Riedinger, explaining the background to his considerations.

Because today it is no longer enough to only have space gain in mind when designing a room: rather, Hotel and catering establishments strives to remain in the memory of the guests through their recognition value. Last but not least, this is why the Hotelcamp Reinsehlen opted for solutions from STROHBOID: The sustainable, timeless and innovative design is impressive both from the outside and from the inside - "You don't find that everywhere and it fits in wonderfully with the environment here," adds hotel manager Riedinger.

Travel trends follow: holidays in the midst of nature

Not only seminar participants appreciate a breather outdoors: holidays close to nature are booming! So it is up to the accommodation providers to enable their guests to have original experiences and to break new ground themselves.

"Guests want their needs met, they want to be looked after and they want to be confronted with new things," says Paul Urchs, director of the Hotel Adula in Flims, the challenges in the hotel industry. In order to counteract this, STROHBOID was used: For example, the Hotel Adula uses the for its "1001 Stelas Suite". STROHBOID Lounge as a hotel room extension , to offer its guests open-air overnight stays under the starry sky.

Sustainable building as an answer to the current shortage of raw materials

Last but not least, the current situation on the raw materials market makes it essential to include considerations of the price and availability of raw materials in the redesign of space. For STROHBOID it is obvious that sustainable and resource-saving construction can be a worthwhile approach.

“Our vision is to finally make the construction industry sustainable. We produce our outdoor rooms CO2-neutrally from natural materials such as wood: companies that want to create attractive rooms that are also good for the environment are well served with our products,” Max Schade from STROHBOID refers to the Lightweight construction with wood. The framework of the STROHBOID products is surrounded by a translucent, weatherproof shell, under which an extraordinary lighting atmosphere is created with a simultaneous open-air feeling.

You can also enjoy such an ambience in the Hotelcamp Reinsehlen, where a STROHBOID Pavilion spanned the framework for all kinds of occasions. It is used for conferences, but also for gastronomic purposes, such as for breakfast or for family or company celebrations. With this, the hotel management wanted to create an attractive space for the guests to enjoy the surrounding nature to the fullest.

Many challenges – one approach: sustainable design

The hotel and gastronomy industry are faced with several difficulties today: a competitive market, price pressure, sustainability considerations and limited space make it necessary to break new ground and reinterpret our own outdoor spaces. With STROHBOID and its innovative outdoor solutions, hoteliers and restaurateurs will find a reliable partner to optimally meet the challenges of the time and to amaze their guests with future-oriented room concepts.
